We love working with wood, its such a fantastic material,’ says Fari, one half of the fraternal duo who manage Brothers Joinery. ‘Whatever the project, whether it’s designing and building a bespoke staircase or making and fitting sash windows or internal doors, our experienced team uses both traditional and modern skills to deliver excellent results.’ Having completing their apprenticeships, Fari and his brother Qani worked in the trade for many years before joining the independent business. Offering a comprehensive range of specialist joinery services, they now operate London-wide from a busy Fulham workshop (a new – and much quieter – office premises is about to open on Parson’s Green). ‘When someone contacts us we arrange an appointment for a complimentary site survey, ask lots of questions and then prepare a quote for construction and installation,’ explains Fari. ‘Of course, we’re always happy to advise and recommend – for example, on materials, finishes and glazing options – and we often liaise with architects and interior designers. ‘There are so many advantages to utilising timber for doors and windows: it has natural insulating properties, ensuring much better thermal efficiency and sound proofing than plastic alternatives, and it is durable and just looks so elegant. ‘Also, we’re proud to be a “green” business. All our timber is sourced from well-managed sustainable forests and carries the international Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) stamp of approval. We’re passionate about every job that comes into the workshop and we look forward to creating made-to-measure wooden solutions for your home.’
